EU data residency
All survey data is stored in Frankfurt, Germany on Neon PostgreSQL infrastructure. No data is transferred to or processed in the United States. Your respondents' data never leaves the EU.
Data minimization
We only collect the data necessary to provide the service. Survey responses store the answers themselves — we don't add tracking pixels, fingerprint respondents, or collect unnecessary metadata.
Consent management
Survey creators control consent flows. Respondents can be informed about data collection purposes before submitting. Anonymous surveys are fully supported — no personal data required from respondents.
Data portability
Export all survey data at any time in CSV or JSON format. Survey creators can download their complete data set, making it easy to move to another platform or fulfill data portability requests.
Right to erasure
Survey creators can delete individual responses or entire surveys at any time. When a survey is deleted, all associated response data is permanently removed from our databases.
Data processing agreements
As a data processor, we process survey response data on behalf of survey creators (data controllers). Our terms of service include data processing provisions aligned with GDPR Article 28 requirements.

GDPR frequently asked questions
Is Zolvi a data controller or data processor?
Zolvi acts as a data processor under GDPR. The survey creator (you) is the data controller. You determine what data is collected, how it's used, and how long it's retained. We process the data according to your instructions and our terms of service.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored in Frankfurt, Germany (EU) on Neon PostgreSQL infrastructure. We do not transfer data to the United States or any country outside the EU/EEA.
Can respondents request deletion of their data?
Yes. Respondents can contact the survey creator to request deletion of their responses. Survey creators can then delete individual responses through the Zolvi dashboard. For anonymous surveys, specific responses can still be deleted if identified by timestamp or content.
Does Zolvi use cookies on survey pages?
Survey response pages use minimal functional cookies only (e.g., language preference). We do not place advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies on survey response pages. The marketing website uses analytics cookies with proper consent.
Do you have a Data Processing Agreement (DPA)?
Our terms of service include data processing provisions aligned with GDPR Article 28. Enterprise customers requiring a dedicated DPA can contact us at privacy@zolvi.app.
What happens if I delete my Zolvi account?
When you delete your account, all surveys, responses, and personal data are permanently deleted from our systems. This process is irreversible and completed within 30 days of the deletion request.
