Frequently asked questions
How many questions should an employee engagement survey have?
A comprehensive annual engagement survey can have 20–40 questions. For quarterly pulse surveys, keep it to 5–10 questions. This template includes the essential questions that cover the most important engagement drivers.
Should employee engagement surveys be anonymous?
Yes — anonymous surveys consistently produce more honest responses. Zolvi does not collect respondent identity by default. Make it clear in your survey introduction that responses are anonymous and will be used to improve the workplace.
When is the best time to run an engagement survey?
Avoid running engagement surveys during high-stress periods (end of fiscal year, layoffs, major deadlines). Mid-quarter or the start of a new quarter works well. Give employees at least 2 weeks to respond.
